Luís began his musical studies when he was 7 years old at the Academia de Música Eborense, then attended the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa and graduated from the Hochschule für Music Basel, with a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.

First prize in the Estoril Music Interpretation Competition, he has performed in almost all of Europe and also in Israel, Mozambique, China and Japan.

As a soloist, he performed with the Cascais Chamber Orchestra, Macao Chamber Orchestra, Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra, Baroque Orchestra Músicos do Tejo and Americantiga.

He was an intern at the Sinfonieorchester Basel, having then joined the Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa.
He participated in several recordings for the publishers Naxos, Solomusica, Paraty and Numérica, with excellent international reviews.
